PAIR was born when Polaroid announced that it would stop making its paper. After discovering this, I got my first Polaroid camera for $3 in a thrift store in Denver, CO., where I first lived in the USA.
I explored the streets with this old Polaroid and I shot portraits. This portraits are a representation of the "American Dream". The american dream that although it is a story, in reality, is also translated as freedom. I found icons and emerging surprises. The reactions, poses, and smiles shot in Denver, New York and San Francisco, in the course of 3 years (2006-2009), capture Polaroid´s light, tones, irregularities, and pay homage to this emblematic camera.
